Moments I live for.

Her heels are the most awaited sound in my existence. I wait to
hear them, close my eyes and gather myself for the moments,
fleeting time - just a parenthesis, ahead. Light filters through
the room, indicating the west exposure, the late afternoon. I
move my fingers and toes, making myself awake, ready.
The shackles that tie me to the cage walls are tight and my
limbs have gotten swollen from the position - legs and arms
stretched. I am the vision of a stressed cable, a tensed pole -
stretched to its yielding point, waiting for her.
